Terms and Conditions for Registration and Application  to the Initiative
  • The author must be Saudi 

  • The book must be of appropriate artistic and scholarly value.

  • The content must not have been previously published in full.

  • It must be a valuable and distinctive addition to Arabic content.

  • It must pass peer review

  • Both parties shall commit to maintaining the confidentiality of information, correspondence, and contracts.

  • Support in nominating the book for local and international awards, if the author so wishes.

  • Nominating the author to present the book's subject at specialized seminars, meetings, and literary evenings

  • The book must be approved by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission

  • Both parties shall comply with everything stated in the contract signed between them

  • If a book is not accepted, Adab is not obliged to explain the reasons for rejection 

  • If the content needs improvement in its artistic or scholarly quality, the initiative offers free consultations in the relevant field, should the author wish

  • If the submitted content is outstanding and the author wishes, we can work with the author to promote the book through virtual sessions (Twitter Spaces or the Adab Salon) or in-person meetings and seminars, and recommend the book and its author to relevant bodies. All of this is offered by the initiative free of charge in service of the author and the book.

  • If the book is accepted, Adab will provide all typesetting and layout services; the author need only submit the draft content in its final form.

  • For master's and doctoral theses: if the conditions apply to the thesis in terms of content quality and passing the initial screening, Adab will provide the author with consultations and guidance free of charge to transform the academic text into a cultural, knowledge-based text suited to the publishing market, without losing its scholarly rigor and while achieving wider reach.

  • Before signing the contract, the author has the right to discuss its terms, including deletions, additions, and amendments, in line with the author's vision, provided they do not conflict with applicable laws and regulations and still achieve the initiative's objectives.

  • The author has the right to determine the contract term together with the initiative and to negotiate it in a way that ensures the initiative's success and does not harm either party.

  • The author may limit the rights to print publication only, and may, if desired, authorize Adab to publish the book electronically, in audio format, or in translation into other languages.
